Funeral arrangements have been announced for an IUP professor who died in a tragic accident this week.
Dr. P. Michael Kosicek was killed in a tractor accident on Tuesday at his home in Kiskiminetas Township. Kosicek was a member of IUP’s faculty since 2002, teaching undergraduate and MBA classes in the Eberly College of Business. He was an associate professor of management and coordinated the doctoral business program. In 2018, Kosicek was given the Distringuished Faculty Award for teaching.
Dr. Prashanth Bharadwaj, the director of Eberly College of Business’ School of International Management said that Kosicek was a very optimistic and outgoing individual and loved interacting with students and faculty. He also credited Kosicek for creating the doctoral business program for professionals like himself who had over 20 years of real-world experience before going back to school for his PhD.
Before coming to IUP, he worked for General Electric and Westinghouse and held positions of responsibility in Pennsylvania and other states.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 8:00 PM at the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory in Apollo. Kosicek was 68.
