Three people who went missing last night in Armstrong County were found this morning.
Dayton Fire Department and other agencies from both Armstrong and Indiana Counties were dispatched this morning for a water rescue on Milton Loop Campground Road in Dayton at 1:02 AM. Blairsville, Saltsburg and Tunnelton firefighters joined other crews on the scene to search for a father and two children, ages nine and seven, who reportedly went out yesterday. Tunnelton fire chief Dave Bruzda said that the three were disoriented as to where they were as they floated down the Mahoning creek nearby. The three were found and were reportedly okay.
Bruzda confirmed that search parties had to temporarily halt the search when thunderstorms rolled through for the safety of the first responders. Crews were on the scene for about five hours looking for the three missing people.
