A Bolivar man was found guilty on charges of attempted homicide, attempted kidnapping and others connected with an incident earlier this year in Ligonier Township.
A jury took three hours to find 56-year-old Frank Springer guilty on all eight counts he faced in the January 8th attack on an 18-year-old woman as she was jogging in Ligonier Township. Police said that the victim was on a morning run through town, while Springer followed her and approached her near the Rolling Rock Club in Ligonier Township. He fired a gun at her as she tried to flee, threw her cell phone into the nearby Loyalhanna Creek and tried to force her into his vehicle, but she fought back and cried for help at a passing couple on their way to church.
A sentencing hearing will be held in about three months. He faces up to 50 years in prison.
