State Representative Jim Struzzi has announced that the House Republican Policy Committee will hold a special hearing in Homer City on Friday, June 23rd, and the main topic will be the state’s energy policy.
The hearing is titled “Pennsylvania’s Energy Policy: Boom or Bust” and will be held starting at 10 AM at the Homer City Fire Hall on Church Street. In a brief announcement on Facebook, Struzzi said that the purpose of the hearing is to discuss where the state’s energy policy is heading and how to leverage our energy resources to avoid an economic downturn for the area. This comes on the heels of other hearings held throughout the state by the Committee, and on the news that the Homer City Generating Station will be decommissioned, which will result in a large number of layoffs and a loss in property taxes for the county, Center Township and Homer City Borough.
The public will be allowed to attend the hearing. If you are unable to attend, the hearing will be streamed on State Representative Jim Struzzi’s Website, www.RepStruzzi.com
