On Wednesday night, the Penns Manor School Board approved the 2023-24 budget with no tax increase for district residents.
Revenues came to $20,083,414 while expenditures came to $19,445,006.38, resulting in a surplus of $638,407.62. But District Superintendent Daren Johnston said that the surplus was due to ESSER funding, and without that money, the district would face an $80,000 deficit, and if the figures don’t change, that deficit could come next year.
In other business, the board approved a dual enrollment agreement with Mount Aloysius College and Pennsylvania Highlands Community College for the next school year, and appointed Ronald J. Saffron as the district’s solicitor for the next school year.
