At Tuesday night’s meeting, the River Valley School Board approved the new agreement with the River Valley Education Association six months before the current contract was set to expire.
Board president Rick Harper said that the district and the union were able to engage in early bird bargaining sessions, and through those sessions, they reached an agreement. He said it was a “win-win” situation for both sides.
The vote went 7-2, with Beverly Carnese and Melanie Pantalone voting against it.
In other business, the board approved a five-year contract extension with Twisted Computer for the district’s IT infrastructure, and a five-year agreement with Smith Bus company to provide transportation to the district.
