One person was hurt in a car fire reported late Friday morning in Center Township.
State Police say that 70-year-old Daniel Stewart of Indiana was driving his Kia Soul east on Route 422 near Warren Road in Center Township when the car had a mechanical failure and caught fire. Stewart was able to get the car to the road’s shoulder, but flames fully engulfed the vehicle, causing disabling damage. Indiana Fire Association assisted state troopers on the scene.
Stewart had minor injuries, but refused transportation by Citizens’ Ambulance. He was eventually picked up by his employer and taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment.
