After five previous postponements, the Ray Shetler Jr. trial appears on Monday’s schedule in Westmoreland County Court. The 38-year-old Shetler, who is now listed with a Saltsburg address, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and single counts of resisting arrest and attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer.
Shetler was apprehended on December 7th, 2021 after skipping a probation hearing and going into hiding. He was at his girlfriend’s mobile home outside of Seward. He brawled with police officers and Westmoreland County detectives and was struck in the eye by a stun gun. One of the officers suffered serious injuries in the fight.
The trial is scheduled to begin at 9 AM tomorrow in the courtroom of Judge Meaghan Bilik-DeFazio.
