At Tuesday night’s meeting, Indiana Borough Council approved a grant application for the upcoming borough building improvements.
The grant application will go to the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget. Borough Councilman Gerald Smith talked about some of the things that need fixed in the over 50-year-old building.
Smith said there would also be some improvements to the downstairs offices and the police station. No word yet on when the project would start or how much money the borough is asking for.
In other business, the borough unanimously approved hiring attorney Jocelyn Kramer at a cost of $225 an hour for a personnel investigation. It was confirmed that this was in connection to recent complaints brought up concerning the Indiana Borough Police Department.
