Defending champion Homer-Center and Heritage Conference rival United both punched their ticket to the District 6 girls AA title game with wins last night in the semifinals.
Homer-Center built a big lead, then held off a charge by Bishop McCort to win their game. Mark Bertig reports.

Homer-Center defeated United the two times they played this season, by scores of 51-41 and 53-41.
United fans will have two chances at celebrating a district championship on Thursday. The girls will play Homer-Center at 6 and the Lions will take on West Branch for the boys championship immediately afterward. We will have both games on Cat Country, 106.3 FM, and on Renda Digital TV.
The news gets even better for the Heritage Conference in the AAA semifinals, as the River Valley girls overcame the tough Forest Hills Rangers last night. Jake Slebodnick was there.
In the AAA championship on Friday, River Valley will face the winner of tonight’s game between top seed Westmont Hilltop and fourth seed Huntingdon.
