Indiana County firefighters have had an active weekend, including calls for two brush fires.
The action started at one o’clock yesterday afternoon with an accident on Indian Springs Road in White Township. Indiana firefighters responded.
At 2:44, Blairsville and Black Lick firefighters were dispatched to set up a landing zone along Campbell Road in Burrell Township.
Then at 6:43 PM, Vintondale was summoned out of Cambria County to fight a brush fire along Hagens Road in Buffington Township. Brush Valley and Nanty Glo were soon added to that call. At about the same time, Black Lick and Blairsville were sent to set up another landing zone, this one along Colony Boulevard in Burrell Township.
Finally, Brush Valley and Armagh/East Wheatfield firefighters were sent to a brush fire along Brush Creek Road in Brush Valley Township at 12:40 AM today.
