State Police and Indiana Fire Association were called out for a report of a child in a car in White Township on Friday.
Indiana County 911 reported the call initially went out at 12:20 PM on Friday at the Walmart along Oakland Avenue in White Township. The caller had reported the child locked in the vehicle in the store’s parking lot. Indiana Fire Association was the first to arrive on the scene and found the vehicle in Row Five. With the assistance of state police, rescue volunteers were able to gain access to the vehicle and free the child.
No word yet if any charges will be filed.
Only two other calls were reported by Indiana County 911 on Friday afternoon and evening. One call was for lines down in Cherryhill Township along Route 403 North at 2:40 PM. Cherryhill Township firefighters were called to the scene. There was also a call to have Coal Run firefighters help EMTs at 9:02 PM on McIntyre Road in Young Township.
