On Monday night, the Indiana School Board president talked about the next steps concerning the district’s superintendent.
Late last week, Superintendent Michael Vuckovich announced that he would take a superintendent’s position with Windber School District. The board also issued a statement, saying they would look to appoint Robert Heinrich as an acting superintendent for the district. Board president Walter Schroth said that the formal acceptance of Vuckovich’s resignation and the appointment of Heinrich will take place in two weeks at the board’s special meeting on February 27th. After that, the board is going to consider its options.
In other business, the board approved facilities usage and speech and language cooperative agreements with IUP, and the board approved the 2023-2024 school year calendar and the list of holidays and Act 80 days for the next school year.
