The IUP basketball teams take the court at the KCAC this evening for a doubleheader against Clarion. The IUP women have lost three games in a row after starting the season 11-0. IUP is 6-3 in the PSAC. They were beaten by 20 points at UPJ on Saturday. Clarion is 3-11 and 3-6 in the PSAC.
IUP’s men are 15-0 and 9-0 in the PSAC. They’re coming off a 76-71 win over UPJ. Clarion is just 2-13 and 0-9 in the conference. Coach Joe Lombardi says his team is getting used to the fact that every team they play is going to be fired up to play the number one ranked team in the nation.
The airtime for the IUP women is 5:15, tipping off at 5:30 on 92.5 FM U92, with the men’s game to follow.
PITT BASKETBALL
The Pitt Panthers finish a three-game ACC road trip tonight with a game in Louisville. Pitt is 12-6 and 5-2 in the ACC while the once-mighty Cardinals are a meager 2-16, and 0-7 in the ACC.
Because of the Penguins and IUP games, the Pitt game will not be on WCCS tonight.
