On Monday night, the Purchase Line School Board hired a superintendent to take over on a temporary basis.
The interim superintendent will be Dave London, a native of Big Run and was a former superintendent at the Smethport School District from 2016 to 2020. London talks about what he looks forward to when he assumes the office in February.
He will take over for Shawn Ford, who submitted a letter of resignation in November. He is leaving the district to become the assistant superintendent at the Dubois Area School District.
In other business, the board awarded the bids for entrance signs at the elementary and high school complex to Scholar Signs, LLC at a cost of $45,000. The board also approved a school climate survey for students in grades 5-12.
