As we head further into the New Year, local fire departments are finalizing their statistics from 2022. One department that’s published their statistics already is the Clymer Fire Department.
Fire officials say in a Facebook post that Clymer crews tended to 167 total incidents last year. Among calls were 33 structure fires, 28 EMS assist calls, 27 crashes — eight involving injuries – and eight brush fires.
Clymer Fire Department also released its Top Five Responders for last year. Brett Gromley responded to 122 incidents, marking 73 percent of calls. Following him was John Gromley who responded to 105 incidents. Rounding out the Top Five were Dan Barnes (95 incidents), Jim Zimmerman (94 incidents) and George Pavlosky (84 incidents).
The busiest weekdays, according to fire officials, were Thursday and Friday as 34 calls were made, and the busiest time of day was between 4 and 5 p.m.
The slowest day of the week in 2022 was Sunday as only 14 calls were made.
