Newly-crowned District 6 Class A champion Northern Cambria will take on District 4 champion Canton in the state football quarterfinals this weekend. The PIAA announced the bracket yesterday, with the 10-3 Colts returning to Mansion Park in Altoona against the 12-1 Warriors on Saturday at 5 o’clock.
Canton averages over 37 points per game, with a season high of 73. They also scored 63 in another game. They are the two-time district champions, beating Muncy for the district title 42-7 on November 12th. They did not play last weekend. Northern Cambria beat Penns Manor, 12-6 at Mansion Park to win the District 6 title on Saturday.
The other half of Northern Cambria’s quarterfinal bracket features Steel-High against North Lehigh at Steel-High Saturday at 1. The other Class A games will be played Friday. Port Allegany plays Reynolds High at Bradford and Canevin clashes with Union Area at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
