At Tuesday night’s meeting, the River Valley School Board said that discussion will start soon concerning board members attending meetings.
As it stands right now, some board members continue to attend meetings virtually, including executive sessions, which deal with several different issues like security, employee matters, legal matters, and other items. Board President Rick Harper said that he would like to see the policy change so that only those attending in-person would be able to take part in the executive session.
The first read of the changed policy could come as soon as November’s meeting.
In other business, the board approved advertising the district’s STEAM academy on cable TV through Effectv on Comcast. The district plans on getting a consultant for the commercials, but they hope to have the STEAM academy students work on the spots.
