Saturday was a busy one for Indiana County’s firefighters, especially in the evening, with two brush fires and a structure fire on the list of incidents for which Indiana County 911 issued dispatches.
The action started at 6 PM when firefighters from Iselin/West Lebanon were sent to a garage fire along Crooked Creek Road in South Bend Township, Armstrong County. They arrived along with Armstrong County units to find the 20-by-30-foot structure fully involved with flames showing and heavy smoke. Coal Run/McIntyre was added to the call, with Tunnelton, Aultman and Saltsburg placed on standby.
Plumville firefighters were dispatched at 6:41 PM for a brush fire along McMillan Road in South Mahoning Township. Indiana Company 1 was summoned for a brush fire along South Ben Franklin Road in White Township at 7:16 PM.
Earlier in the day, Creekside was sent to a gas leak along Five Points Road in Washington Township, and Rossiter firefighters responded to a report of utility lines down on Locust Lane in Canoe Township.
