INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana Borough Police have charged an Indiana man with simple assault and harassment for an incident last Saturday night. Police say at 7:31 PM, police were dispatched for an unknown problem in the 500 block of South 6th Street. When police investigated further, they found that 37-year-old Wesley Wertz and another person were involved in a physical altercation that resulted in an injury to the unidentified victim. Wertz was taken into custody and taken to Indiana County Jail to be arraigned in front of District Judge Christopher Welch.
An Indiana man was arrested on charges connected with an incident early last Sunday morning in the 900 block of Wayne Avenue. Indiana Borough Police reported that at 12:16 AM, officers were asked to assist IUP police with a fight between a group of men. The investigation revealed 28-year-old Brett Skuta of Indiana tried to pick a fight with the group. He was taken into custody on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. After his arraignment at District Judge Guy Haberl’s office, he was released to a sober adult.
