State police from the Troop A barracks are advising Indiana residents of their enforcement efforts for the upcoming Homecoming weekend.
As in past years, troopers from the Indiana barracks will be assisted by other stations in Troop A, as well as the Tactical Mounted Section and Canine Unit, the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, and additional resources.
Specific efforts include increased roving patrols and increased traffic enforcement. In addition, troopers will actively patrol neighborhoods and highways to investigate all observed and reported criminal activity and traffic violations. Some things troopers will look for include DUI, Public Drunkenness, Disorderly Conduct, and scattering trash.
Residents and visitors are also reminded that troopers on horseback will be patrolling the Indiana area and, as of PA Title 18, Section 5548, it is a third-degree felony to touch a police animal.
They add that residents and/or visitors should call 9-1-1 to report any suspicious activity.
