At last night’s Homer City Borough Council Meeting, council members heard a request from Citizens’ Ambulance Service.
Borough Manager Rob Nymick said Citizens’ requested for $23,000 to be factored into the borough’s 2022-23 budget for general support. Nymick said the request came after Citizens’ garnered little support last year.
In other business, council members heard an update from Misty Hunt on the newly-created Community Garden in the Homer City Park. Hunt said that the garden is mostly finished, and that they have gained a lot of monetary support through donations. She adds, though, that the gardens are still searching for volunteers.
Council also applied for another grant worth $977,000 for improvements in the Main Street area, and Mayor Arlene Wanatosky put in a request to purchase a new police cruiser using COVID relief money.
