In the final day of pool play in the 2022 PA Youth American Legion State Championships, the hosting Homer City Bears dropped their final game of the week, 8-0, to the Murrysville Eagles.

Murrysville pitcher James Templeton earned the win after pitching six innings of shutout ball. He allowed just three hits and no walks while earning three strikeouts. Nolan Stephany pitched the final inning to earn his team the win.
Offensively, Chase Lemke led the way for Murrysville by going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs. Brady Yarabinetz went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks.
For Homer City, Kayden Detwiler went 1-for-3 with a double, while Alex Stewart and Avery Foreman each tallied a hit.

With pool play finished, the stage is set for championship Tuesday, which features two semifinal games in Indiana and Homer City, followed by the championship game.
The first semifinal game will showcase Murrysville, the winner of Pool A, against Pool B Runner-Up Connellsville. Both teams will play at the White Township Recreation Complex’s Keystone Field.
The other game will feature Pool B winner Northampton taking on Pool A Runner-Up Upper Perkiomen at First Commonwealth Bank Field in Homer City.
Both games will start at 9:30 a.m.
Following those games, the championship game will be played at First Commonwealth Bank Field.
The approximate start time is dependent on when both semifinal games conclude. As of now, the game will start at 1:30 p.m.
