While the Indiana County Youth Legion League Championship is being contested in Jefferson County between Punxsutawney S&T Bank and Brookville, there is another series going on that won’t determine a championship, but it will determine who the host team is in the upcoming PA Youth Legion Western Regional Tournament.
Punxsutawney and Brookville will need a third and deciding game to determine the league title and automatic berth in the Western Regionals, and locally Marion Center and the SW Jack Drillers will also need a third game. After losing game 1, Marion Center responded with a 17-7 mercy rule victory over the Drillers at Marion Center High School Tuesday night to even the series at a game apiece.
Marion Center pounded out 17 hits.
After an off day, the two teams will meet with a berth in the regional as the host team on the line Thursday night at 7:00 PM. That game will be played at First Commonwealth Bank Field in Homer City, the same ballpark that will host the West Regionals beginning July 22nd.
