At yesterday’s Indiana County Youth Legion playoffs, top seed SW Jack had to move their game to First Commonwealth Bank Field in Homer City, but it didn’t slow down the Drillers, who topped Brookville Firemans’ Club, 10-2. SW Jack broke a 1-1 tie with a nine-run fifth inning. Kadin Homer and Caden Force both had two hits. Homer drove in three runs and Derek Miller and Landon Kodman each drove in two.
Ryan Okapal got the win with five innings of one-run ball, giving up three hits and five walks but striking out ten. Jonathan Cribbs threw the final two innings, giving up one run on two hits. For Brookville, Ladd Blake had two hits. The best-of-three series will shift to Brookville for the second game tonight.

In the other semifinal, Punxsutawney S&T Bank nipped Marion Center, 3-2. Marion Center had taken a 2-0 lead in the second inning. S&T Bank had only three hits in the game and drew three walks, but they were able to string together a three-run 4th inning. Landon Temchulla had a double and Lucas Mennitti the lone RBI for Punxsy. For Marion Center, Alex Stewart and Camden Rising each had two doubles. They had eight hits overall, but left five runners on base.
Parker Stahlman earned the win, going 6-and-two-thirds innings and giving up two runs on eight hits, with one walk and eight strikeouts. Donald Bender came on to get the final out on a strikeout and get the save. Stewart took the loss, throwing all six innings for MC, giving up three earned runs on three hits with three walks and nine strikeouts. Game Two is tonight at Marion Center.
