In commemoration of Flag Day, the Indiana Elks Lodge will hold a special flag ceremony tonight.
The program will be held at the Elks Lodge on South 13th Street and will be conducted by Exalted Ruler Bob McClelland and other officers of the Elks. In an interview on Indiana in the Morning on Monday, Bob King of the Indiana Elks said that honoring the American Flag is a big part of the national Elks club philosophy.
Patriotic music will be played during the ceremony, ranging from Stars and Stripes Forever to Proud to Be An American. There will also be a proclamation presented by Indiana Borough Mayor Bill Simmons and the Elks Lodge will also recognize citizens, community businesses and organizations that properly fly the American Flag.
Tonight’s ceremonies, which start at 7:00 PM, are open to the public.
