New figures released by the Pennsylvania State Data Center show a declining population across southwestern Pennsylvania, including in Indiana County.
The analysis, in fact, shows population losses in all but four Indiana County municipalities, according to U.S. Census information gathered in 2020. The county’s population dropped by 6.3 percent, from 88,880 to 83,246. Our neighbors also declined: Jefferson by 1.6 percent, Armstrong by 4.9 percent, Cambria by 7.1 percent, Clearfield by 1.3 percent, and Westmoreland by 2.9 percent.
