Tonight is the final meeting held by the Indiana County Commissioners to discuss how some federal funds the county received will be spent.
So far, two other open forums have been held on the topic in Indiana and in Armagh. This was part of an effort to determine how the county will spend federal American Rescue Plan Act funds. The county will receive $16.3 million in ARP funds, but those funds must be spent on certain reasons. The first half of the money was received in July of last year.
Tonight’s meeting will be held in Marion Center at the Marion Center Community Center on Route 403 North across from the High School and will go from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
Another topic expected to be up for discussion tonight during the open forum will be the issue of broadband internet access, which in the last two meetings, was anticipated by Byron Stauffer of the County’s office of planning and development, according to County Commissioners Chairman Mike Keith.
While the last two meetings were held in a hybrid format, this meeting will be in-person only.
