Two fire calls were reported on Monday in central Indiana County.
The first call was reported at 5:08 PM, with Homer City, Coral-Graceton and Indiana fire departments called out along with Citizens Ambulance and the Homer City police department. Fire chief Terry Gardner said the fire was minor, and started in the natural gas fireplace in the residence on East Church Street. Damage was limited to just the fireplace. No injuries were reported, and Homer City fire department cancelled the response from the other units.
Indiana and Homer City fire departments were called out again at 11:10 PM for a reported fire on Brady Drive in White Township. Clymer Fire department was also called out at the time to assist, as was the RIG team and Citizens Ambulance. Indiana Fire Association Assistant Chief Ron Moreau said that the fire started on the front porch of an older trailer in Brady Trailer Park. The cause of the fire is not known, but it’s believed to be electrical in nature. The two residents of the trailer were not at home at the time, but they got home to discover the fire starting. The fire was mostly on the exterior of the building, but the building is considered a total loss. The two residents are staying with relatives.
