Several sentencing hearings were held yesterday in Indiana County Court, including one for a woman who was charged in connection with a drug investigation in January of this year.
50-year-old Lori Wisor of Blairsville was ordered to serve two to five years in state prison for a guilty plea to possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. The plea was entered on November 24th, and was connected with a drug bust made by state police at her home while investigating a nearby domestic disturbance.
On January 26th, troopers were dispatched to a home on Liekert Avenue in Burrell Township, where a man in a red hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans kicked the door of the home down and fled through the home Wisor, who owned the home at 79 Liekert Avenue, gave police permission to search the house for the man, but police found a glass pipe used to smoke crystal methamphetamine. A search warrant was granted and police found 71 stamp bags of suspected heroin, eight baggies of suspected cocaine and other drug paraphernalia items. Troopers also found she was using baking soda to help repack the suspected cocaine.
Also sentenced yesterday was 44-year-old Jeffrey Adams of Cherry Tree. He was brought up on charges of resisting arrest, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, flight to avoid apprehension and disorderly conduct. He was ordered to serve a total of up to two years of probation for all the charges from an incident on March 5th of this year. He had entered guilty pleas to all charges on November 5th.
