The Indiana Area School Board holds a special meeting tonight, but there are two committee meetings beforehand.
The board’s Outreach Committee will meet at noon today to explore several issues, including “combating miscommunication” and how the district communicates with its students. The topic arose from the district’s covid-19 communication task force meeting. The discussion will also focus on communication with the community and other issues before the committee.
At 5:30 this evening, the school board’s Audit & Finance Committee will discuss the 2020-21 year-end review of district finances, funding for the East Pike School roof replacement, a new investment opportunity, and a proposal to offer bonuses to substitute teachers who work more than ten or more days per month.
For the meeting of the board as a whole, there are a number of agenda items, including the awarding of the bid for the East Pike roof, which will top $700,000. There will be a motion to approve a memorandum of understanding with the teacher’s union regarding dual enrollment, and a number of personnel-related motions and committee reports.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 o’clock as the district offices.
