A fallen tree led to power lines going down and to a power outage this morning in the Lucernemines area.
Indiana County 911 dispatched the Indiana Fire Association Company Four to the scene at 4985 Lucerne Road near the intersection with South Sixth Street Extension. Initial reports said that a transformer was on fire, and that lead to some live power lines going down. While Penelec is not reporting any outages at this time, REA Energy reports that 541 of its cooperative members are without power at this time.
No word yet on when power will be restored. REA crews are on scene.
