On Wednesday, the Center Township Supervisors approved making a donation to Citizens’ Ambulance.
Last month, the supervisors were visited by Citizens’ as part of their tour of townships and boroughs they serve in an effort to raise money. Supervisors Chairman Dave Smyers said the $10,000 donation approved Wednesday night shows how important the ambulance company is.

The $10,000 donation will be matched by White Township thanks to a challenge from White Township’s supervisors to match up to $50,000 for donations to the ambulance service.
In other business, the supervisors approved holding a town hall meeting on September 8th at 6:00 PM at the Coral-Graceton Fire Hall to discuss a possible tenant for the former Grapevine building in Coral. The proposed tenant is St. Michael’s Sanctuary, a 28 bed on-hospital detox inpatient facility that treats patients who suffer from both mental illness and addiction. The public will have the opportunity to comment and ask questions about the facility.
