The Indiana County Commissioners and the county’s Emergency Management Agency continued to encourage citizens to get vaccinated against Covid-19 during Wednesday morning’s meeting.
EMA Director Tom Stutzman quoted the latest weekly figures from the CDC that put Indiana County in a high transmission region. He added that Indiana County is still way behind the neighboring counties in the percentage of people vaccinated.
In other business, the Board of Commissioners approved a contract of $66,024 with American Made Election Equipment to provide brand new election booths across the county. They include 385 regular booths, 55 lighted booths and 75 booths that are ADA compliant. Chief Clerk Robin Maryai said that the current booths are actually over 40 years old.
The Commissioners approved a contract with Shadco, LLC of Home, PA for Indiana Borough’s South 7th Street Storm Sewer Replacement Project for $221,837 to replace the existing storm sewer system on 7th between Vriginia Avenue and Grant Street.
