One person is in critical condition after a tree landed on a car last night on Route 403 in East Mahoning Township.

The Marion Center fire department and Citizens’ Ambulance were dispatched at 8:01 PM to Route 403 North near Keslar Road, with Clymer fire crews called in a few minutes later and found a vehicle crashed into a tree and became entrapped in it. Officials said that the tree fell across the roadway and the driver may not have seen the tree falling.
It took 35 minutes for crews to extricate the driver, who has not yet been identified. That person was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment. The victim’s name was not released.
