Thursday afternoon, one of the Republican candidates for governor paid a visit to downtown Indiana and took a walking tour of the area.
Former congressman Lou Barletta arrived in Indiana for lunch with local representatives before heading to some of the businesses to talk with business owners and customers about the issues they face. Barletta said that these “main street tours” started when he was a congressman because he felt he could get to know the community better, and people would feel comfortable approaching him and talking with him.
Today’s stop was part of a recent western PA sweep for his campaign. His stops in Indiana included The Coney, The 700 Shop and Luxenberg’s.

Barletta is one of seven candidates who have declared they are running for the Republican Party nomination for Governor in 2022. The other candidates include Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Gale, former mayor of Corry Jason Monn, Pittsburgh Attorney Jason Richey, Dr. Nche Zana, conservative activist Charlie Gerow and retired UPS security employee John Venture.
