The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections has announced that visitations will resume on July 29th for prisoners at SCI Pine Grove.
The department has been phasing in the resumption of visitations throughout its system, with Pine Grove announced along with the prisons in Coal and Benner Townships and SCI-Greene County by the end of the month. Visitors are reminded that they must register at least three days in advance, and in order to comply with reduced visiting room capacities, those who have not scheduled an appointment will be turned away. Visitors must also complete a Covid-19 related questionnaire and temperature screening when they get there, and wear the issued disposable facemask for the duration of the visit. Inmates will also be wearing masks, and the waiting rooms will be situated to allow for social distancing. Other established visiting rules will be in effect.
Information on how to schedule an in-person visit can be found at the department’s website, www.cor.pa.gov. Virtual visits will still be available as an option.
