An Indiana woman was sentenced to serve in Indiana County Jail following a bond revocation hearing earlier today.
President Judge Thomas Bianco sentenced 44-year-old Mary Elizabeth Sanders to serve 89 days to 2 years less than one day in Indiana County Jail in relation to an incident of theft in 2019. In addition, Sanders will have to pay costs and fines while serving probation for one year in both counts, which will run concurrently, following an incident of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in November of 2020.
On that day, Sanders was arrested along with 33-year-old Wayne Sias following a traffic stop on the 900-block of Wayne Ave. Officers discovered both Sanders and Sias to be in possession of heroin, methamphetamine and related packaging. Criminal complaints were filed through District Judge Guy Haberl’s office.
Sias was also sentenced today for the incident. Judge Bianco sentenced him to serve one year of probation for each count while also paying costs and fines, which will also run concurrently.
Also in Indiana County Court, 27-year-old Nicholas Empfield was sentenced for two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He will have to pay costs and fines while serving one year of probation. Empfield was arrested in October 2020 for an incident following a traffic stop in West Wheatfield Township.
