A new Mexican-themed restaurant held its official ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier today.
El Tesoro was officially reigned in shortly after noon in its location of the old Boomerang’s restaurant along Philadelphia St., and while it officially opened for business back in 2020, they were forced to postpone original festivities due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic.
Owner Shane Caylor said that, despite the wait, this was a great time to hold the official ribbon.
Caylor also talked about how the name, El Tesoro, came to be.
Downtown Indiana’s Linda Mitchell said that El Tesoro brings both a menu of authentic Mexican cuisine and a menu of positives for the Indiana community.
Others that assisted in the ribbon-cutting were State Representative Jim Struzzi, the staff of El Tesoro and Caylor’s family. They are open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon until 9 p.m. on Sundays.
