With the installation and ordination of Bishop Larry J. Kulick as the new leader of the Catholic Diocese of Greensburg come other changes to the leadership in the diocese.
Monsignor Raymond Riffle has been appointed as the new Vicar General of the diocese. Riffle is the rector of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg, and as of late, has served as the managing director of the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Greensburg. Riffle’s primary job as Vicar General will be to serve as Bishop Kulick’s main assistant and as the Moderator of the Curia at the Diocesan Pastoral Center.
Riffle will step down from the Catholic Charities post and Dr. Paul Niemiec will step up as the interim managing director. Niemiec currently serves as the Director of Counseling Services for Catholic Charities. Niemiec has been with the diocese for about 20 years and recently received the lifetime achievement award from the Pennsylvania Counseling Association.
