Just as the Indiana Area School District’s coronavirus situation appeared to be getting healthier, the district reported new case notifications yesterday.
A student at the Senior High School has tested positive, and so has a staff member at the Junior High. Those two cases will apply to the rolling 14-day count at each school building, but they are the only two cases on each building’s count.
The high school student was at the school and contagious last Thursday and Friday. Contact tracing established that other students were in class with the infected student, but were masked, distanced, and never within six feet of the student for more than fifteen 15 minutes.
Another student at the high school has tested positive but has not been in the school since last month due to possible exposure, and will not apply to the count. Eisenhower Elementary School also has one positive case, but that will be removed today.
Homer-Center also reported one new positive case yesterday, in a student at the elementary school. People in close contact with the student have been notified and Department of Health recommendations are being followed.
