The Penns Manor School District reported a new positive covid-19 case yesterday. It involves an elementary school employee who was last in school on January 12th. The employee has had no contact with the Penns Manor school community, and there are no changes to the school’s educational schedule.
Homer-Center has two active cases, both confirmed on January 15th and both involving elementary school students. One of the students has had no close contacts with anyone else in the school and the other has, with Department of Health quarantine recommendations being followed in that case.
Blairsville-Saltsburg’s covid-19 count is easing, with the district reporting that its rolling 14-day count currently has a student and a teacher testing positive at Saltsburg Elementary, as well as one student at Blairsville Elementary, two students at Saltsburg Middle-High School, and one student and one employee at Blairsville Middle-High School. Because the cases are spread out over four schools, no changes have been made in the district’s educational schedule.
The only other Indiana County-based district with reportable cases is Indiana Area, which has a single case at the Junior High, scheduled to be removed from the rolling 14-day count tomorrow, and a single case at Eisenhower Elementary, with that case scheduled to be removed this coming Tuesday.
