Indiana Borough Police announced today that they have cited an Indiana Borough restaurant for violating Governor Wolf’s temporary order limiting restaurants to take-out or delivery.
Crouse’s Cafe on Philadelphia Street was issued non-traffic citations by Indiana Borough Police for permitting in-person dining between December 12th and January 4th. Police chief Justin Schawl said that the citations were a last resort measure.
In the news release, Schawl said that the face-to-face meeting happened on December 15th, and written warnings were issued on December 16th, 19th and 21st. The citation itself was issued as Crouse’s was open for business this morning.
The citations will be filed with District Judge Guy Haberl’s office.
Crouse’s was ordered closed after an investigation on December 18th by the PA Department of Agriculture. Both locations in Indiana and Shelocta were ordered to close in mid-December.
