Indiana County District Attorney Bob Manzi announced that the county’s Drug Task Force conducted an investigation late last week in Saltsburg and that resulted in two arrests.
In a news release, Manzi announced that Jacqueline Pratt of Saltsburg and James Higgins of Apollo each face two felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, of drug paraphernalia and of a small amount of marijuana. The task force received a tip from someone in the community about the drug activity going on near their home in the 700 block of Salt Street. When the two were arrested, officials found methamphetamine, digital scales, baggies, and other packaging materials.
The drug task force teamed up with Saltsburg, Indiana, Clymer and Homer City borough police, including K-9 officer Thor from Homer City Police, along with the county sheriff’s office in the investigation and arrest.
In a news release, Manzi said he hopes that any other individuals doing drugs in the community will “see it as an opportunity to stop their involvement in the drug trade and seek help with additional issues they are facing.”
Both Pratt and Higgins were arraigned and placed in Indiana County Jail after failing to post $50,000 bond each. Preliminary hearings are set for November 16th.
