Seven fire departments were on the scene in Conemaugh Township for a large barn fire last night.
Indiana County 911 reports that at 9:00 PM, Tunnelton-Conemaugh Township, Saltsburg, Blairsville, Aultman, Indiana, Coal Run and Iselin volunteer fire departments, along with the Hazmat Team and Lifestat EMS, were dispatched to 72 Tunnelton Road near Clarksburg . Homer City would later be called in to stand by for Aultman Fire Department, while Apollo firefighters would stand by for Iselin.
Initial reports say that heavy fire was showing and the barn was pretty much on the ground by the time crews got there.
Tunnelton Fire Department Assistant Chief Dave Bruzda said that the barn had been abandoned and had been up for sale for about a year or two. He also said that electricity was still running out to the barn. The property’s current owner is unknown.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. State police fire marshals have been called in to investigate the cause of the fire.
