Pennsylvania’s secretary of Health, Dr. Rachael Levine announced earlier today that later this week, the Indiana Mall will host a clinic to test for Covid-19.
The clinic will be open from October 8th to the 12th from 7 AM to 6 PM each day. Sherene Hess of the Indiana County Commissioners said that the testing will be done in a drive-through format utilizing a parking lot not currently being used.
In a news release, Dr. Levine said that there has been an increase of 324 Coronavirus cases in Indiana County since the start of September. While the positivity rate of Coronavirus cases in Indiana County has been at 5.9 percent, it is still the 10th highest positivity rate in the state, and in prior weeks, that rate has been over 10 percent, according to the department of Health.
The tests will be performed by AMI Expeditionary Healthcare, who have already been deployed to Centre and Columbia Counties for community testing.
The clinics are open to everyone and testing will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no cost to those being tested, but those being tested should bring a photo ID and an insurance card. The turnaround time for results can be anywhere from two to seven days, and those who are tested are urged to self-isolate after testing until they receive their results.
