During Thursday night’s meeting, the Homer-Center School Board talked about concerns with the county’s increasing number of Covid-19 cases.
Recent spikes in the number of Covid-19 cases in Indiana County have been attributed to IUP students, and that did catch the attention of District Superintendent Curtis Whitesel, who said it was brought up in a recent meeting with the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Whitesel also reminded everyone that when the new guidance from the Department of Education comes in, it is just a recommendation and the district does not need to follow it.
In other business, the district’s High School was once again recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of the best high schools in the nation.
