Multiple fire departments were called out for two calls yesterday in Center Township and in Blairsville Borough.
The fire in Center Township was in a garage on East 4th Street. Homer City Fire Chief Terry Gardner said that the fire was electrical in nature and there was limited damage and no one was hurt. Homer City fire department was joined by Indiana, Coral-Graceton, the county Hazmat team and Citizen’s Ambulance were summoned to the scene at 1:25 PM.
About three hours later, Blairsville, Black Lick, Coral-Graceton and Homer City fire departments were called out to a home on Johnson Avenue in Blairsville Borough. Blairsville Fire officials say that the fire was accidental in nature and started in the kitchen. It was a small fire, but the whole house took on smoke damage, and there was limited fire damage. One person was home at the time, but got out safely. No injuries were reported.
