It’s a busy day in Indiana County Court today, with sentencing proceedings against a number of defendants.
One of the defendants to be sentenced is 36-year-old David Paul Dilts of Penn Run, who went on a crime spree last November in southern Indiana County. In March, Dilts pleaded guilty to felony theft and criminal trespass, and to misdemeanor terroristic threats, simple assault, and recklessly endangering.
He’d been charged with 31 offenses after breaking into two homes, stealing a pickup truck and a rifle, assaulting a woman who arrive home during one of the burglaries, and later, after crashing the stolen truck, trying unsuccessfully to rob a man and steal his vehicle. Instead, that man beat Dilts up and he fled. He was captured four days later.
20-year-old Brandon Henry Wolfe of Glen Campbell, will be sentenced in three separate cases. He pleaded guilty to felony escape, possession of a controlled substance, and three traffic violations in connection with a traffic stop in October of last year in Clymer.
As a Clymer Borough police officer was questioning Wolfe’s passenger, the handcuffed Wolfe bolted from the police car and ran, but was caught. He had a glass smoking pipe on him, and police found crystal meth, pills, and other drug-related materials in the vehicle. They later found crystal meth hidden in a body cavity.
In a second case, Wolfe will be sentenced for institutional vandalism to an education facility, and in the third case, for burglary.
18-year-old Nakir Green of Indiana will be sentenced for institutional vandalism to an education facility and for felony possession with intent to deliver.
44-year-old Michael Richard Shirley of Clymer will be sentenced for corruption of minors.
55-year-old Gary Lee Berkheimer of Gypsy will be sentenced for felony criminal trespass in a burglary case from November of 2018.
