The Indiana School Board will meet tonight and the tentative 2020-2021 budget is on the agenda for approval.
The proposed budget comes to $56,566,257 for the next school year, with expenditures exceeding revenue by over $3 million. That represents a 0 percent increase in the budget from last year to this year. If approved tonight, the budget will be put out on display at the district offices, and a final vote on the budget will be scheduled for June 22nd during the special board meeting for that month.
The board will also consider a motion to refund students their pay-to-participate fees if they were unable to take part in any spring extracurricular activities. Those refunds will be prorated based on the original payment and the number of seasons that the student took part in an extracurricular activity.
Also on the agenda is a motion to purchase about 275 Chromebooks and management licenses for the 2020-21 school year at a cost of $67,500 with the money coming from the 2019-2020 budget.
